We are members of churches found on the Mid-Atlantic District Church of the Nazarene. We started as a “Church Planters Support Group” but also have ongoing conversations about many topics concerning what it means to be the Church in today’s world. We meet every month at New Beginnings Church in Mount Airy Maryland for food and great conversation. Everyone is welcome, hope to see you there.

Star Trek- The Search For Camelot

Greetings Everyone!

Don't forget our next meeting Tuesday November 14th 6:00 pm in College Park Maryland. We'll be meeting in Mark Garrett's home at 9704 Rhode Island Ave, College Park Maryland. Mark's home is directly behind the College Park Church of the Nazarene. Park in their parking lot and the house is right there behind the chain link fence. Of course this is a different location than usual but this meeting will be different too.

We need to talk together about how we can best work together as a group. We may need to divide into two separate cohorts, possibly a Baltimore/DC cohort and a Mid-Maryland/less urban cohort to facilitate our work. We need to have everyone's voices at the table to collectively discern what would be best for our mutual work and individual needs.

Dinner will be provided and the atmosphere will be a finished basement. Please let me know whether or not you'll be able to attend so we can plan for enough food. God is good and I'm looking forward to meeting with all of you.
God Bless,

New location for our next Church Planter meeting

Hey everybody! Our next meeting will be in a new location, College Park Maryland. We need to dedicate some time to discussing some potential venue change options. Due to several late cancellations for our last meeting we feel like there wasn't adequate representation at the meeting to get a clear direction for some proposed changes. We really need you to make every effort to make it to this next meeting so we can discern where we want to focus our energies for this group and/or possible additional cohorts in the months to come. The meeting will be on Tuesday November 14, 2006 at our usual 6:00 pm meeting time. We'll be meeting in the home of Mark Garrett, who is currently working to re-start the College Park COTN. I'll send his address to you in an email later. We'll have food, time to hang out and talk and hopefully some helpful conversation to fuel our efforts to provide a useful, meaningful connection for people interested in planting new communities of faith in the Mid-Atlantic area. I'm also hoping that our team member, Brian Postlewait will be able to come. I've discovered that our "busy" urban missionary in DC has been moonlighting to help spew the kingdom into the urban centers of our nation. It turns out that Brian has been working on the side as the chief speech writer for a prominent American Evangelical leader. Yep, it seems that Brian Postlewait is responsible for all of the public statements of this influential spokesman for the American Church. Modesty prohibits us from mentioning the public figure by name but I've included a photo of them working together at a public event so you can see who his employer is. "Way to go Brian!"
P.S. Brian is also married to a Stepford Wife.

Next Meeting August 31, 2006

Greetings everyone!
I'm just writing to remind you about our next scheduled church planter meeting Thursday August 31 6:00 pm at the New Beginnings Church in Mount Airy. There will be food and fellowship and (hopefully) some important conversations. It helps us to plan better if you can let me know whether or not you'll be able to attend. Interesting things are happening. I look forward to seeing you and hanging out together for awhile.
